RAK-ing Up the Stakes: Wynn’s Casino Plans Just Got Even Juicier
Big news is coming out of Ras Al Khaimah as Wynn Resorts continues to peel back the layers on its highly anticipated integrated resort. The latest update?
Not one, but two confirmed gaming areas—and possibly a third!
David Loiseau, VP of Sales at Wynn Al Marjan Island, shared the details during the Exotic Wedding Planning Conference in Ras Al Khaimah, where Wynn was a major sponsor. He confirmed that the resort will have a main casino, a massive 224,000-square-foot space—larger than Wynn Las Vegas. But the real surprise? A “sky gaming” area on the 22nd floor, an exclusive and previously unannounced addition.
Naturally, that raises some exciting questions. Could this 22nd-floor space be reserved for high rollers, offering a more intimate, ultra-luxurious gaming experience? Maybe it’s destined to be a dedicated poker room, setting the stage for what would be one of the most spectacular poker settings in the world. Imagine sitting at a high-stakes table with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Arabian Gulf. Now that is a vibe.
There was also a moment of intrigue when Loiseau hinted at a possible third gaming space. However, Wynn Resorts later clarified that while there won’t be a third area, there will be a second “private gaming area” or salon privé, which is standard in high-end integrated resorts. While the main casino will no doubt bring the glitz, these upper-tier gaming spaces could offer a completely different experience, something akin to stepping into another world within the same resort. For players, that variety is key—different atmospheres, different stakes, and an entirely fresh energy in each space.
But it’s not just about the gaming. Loiseau painted a much broader picture of Wynn Al Marjan Island as an entertainment-first destination. With over 1,500 rooms, 22 restaurants and lounges, a beach club, and a nightclub, the resort is positioning itself as a world-class attraction. He also revealed that the property will feature a 900-seat theatre, designed for immersive performances. This is a huge deal—Vegas-style shows are part of what makes a true entertainment hub, and it looks like RAK is getting its own slice of that magic.
At this point, it’s hard not to feel like Ras Al Khaimah is shaping up to be the UAE’s answer to Vegas. The elements are all coming together—big-name resorts, luxury hospitality, high-stakes gaming, top-tier entertainment. While Loiseau made it clear that they’re not trying to recreate Vegas exactly, the DNA is definitely there.
With each new reveal, Wynn Al Marjan Island is looking more and more like a game-changer for the UAE tourism and entertainment landscape. And as always, we’ll be watching closely for the next big development.
